Much has been written recently about the role and impact of VR/XR and AR on gaming, business, entertainment, and sports. I have also mentioned in past articles that VR is a great travel companion as it can whisk you away to the travel destinations of your dreams.
VR travel hits home for me. Although I have traveled worldwide, visited over 35 countries, and accrued over 4 million airline miles in my career, I still want to see at least a dozen places. When I was in junior high, the one subject that interested me the most was geography. I often daydream about places like Paris, London, Hong Kong, Rome, Venice, and just about every place we studied in these classes. Now, imagine if instructors taught these classes using VR, and when learning about the many cities mentioned above, you could experience them as if you were there. This educational shift would make learning geography, history, and many other subjects come alive. Source: Forbes
